tsunamis and other injustices

The strong earthquake on Japan, followed by the huge tsunami that simply washed away thousands of persons, whose number is yet to know, as well as several whole villages, showed how severe can nature be to humankind.

The worst thing however is now happening, when technology develloped by man is about to kill or to cause a quite severe damage to all inhabitants as well as all people living on nearby places, on earth.

We hear that in several countries, namelly some of the former URSS, maintenance on the nuclear plants is undertaken on lower levels of safety. It’s not the case on Japan, a country that takes the lead on state-of-the-art technology, recognized by everyone.

Knowing that Japan people suffered the first ever consequences of  radioactivity, on Hiroshima and Nagasaki,  caused by man, it’s such an injustice that they are now facing again the same danger, now caused by an out of control nature.

“Think: Happy, at rest,
may all beings be happy at heart.
Whatever beings there may be,
weak or strong, without exception,
long, large,
middling, short,
subtle, blatant,
seen & unseen,
near & far,
born & seeking birth:
May all beings be happy at heart.”
Karaniya Metta Sutta.

  1. Paulo says:

A Natureza vai sempre ficar fora controlo. Sejamos felizes que estas injustiças também vão ficar fora do nosso controlo. Mas e claro que são injustiças. Porque eles, porque não os outros…. Quem é que têm a resposta?
